All youth and their families are invited to spend the night in their cars at Highland on May 11 (new date) to raise money for Family Promise. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll get an email from Sarah with a fundraising packet and more information. Our goal is for each car to raise $120, the average cost to house a family of 4 at Family Promise per night.

What: A night spent in your car with a $120 fund raising goal
Where: Highland UMC Parking lot
When: The night of May 11, 2018. 7:00 PM- 7:30 AM the following day.
Why: Homelessness is a problem many families face in Wake County. By raising money and awareness we hope to alleviate this issue and support these families as they transition to stable housing situations.
What to Bring:
- whatever you need to stay comfy and warm in your car overnight (sleeping bag, pillow, etc.)
- toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
- flashlight
- don’t bring: anything illegal for youth under 21. That’s an easy rule, right?
Schedule:
- 7:00 Arrive, Check In, Park & turn in keys
- 7:30 Dinner
- 8:00 What is Family Promise/How Can I Help?
- 9:00 Movie/Free Time
- 11:00 Lights Out, everyone in cars
- 7:15 Wake up, Clean up, distribute keys
- 7:30 Depart
Required Forms:
All Highland Youth must have the following forms on file:
- Covenant Form (print, sign, and turn into Sarah)
- Medical Form (fill out and submit online)
All youth participants (regardless of church affiliation) must fill out and bring the following forms:
- Family Promise Waiver and Photo Release (print, sign, and bring it with you to A Night in My Car)
