As North Carolina begins to vaccinate our older population, it can be difficult to figure out how interested individuals can actually get the vaccine. If your doctor’s office or residential facility is already assisting you in this process, then you’re all set. If you need to pursue an appointment on your own, these may be helpful resources. Any of these will probably require a bit of patience, including long wait times on the phone, but are worth the time.
· WakeMed Information: Sign up for Wake My Chart then make an appointment through that portal. You do not have to be a patient of Wake Med or live in Wake County to access this. 919-350-1066 for help with signing up.
· UNC Health Appointments: All appointments for shots are on line. Go to www.yourshot.org to set up an appointment. If no slots are available check frequently as new slots open up as the vaccine becomes available.
· Duke COVID Hotline: 919-385-0429 Option 2 for setting up an appointment. They are adding appointments as more vaccine becomes available.
· Wake County Department of Health and Human Services: This website gives information about sites that may have available shots and other information about the virus. covid19.ncdhhs.gov
· Johnston County Information: Up to date information at www.johnstonnc.com/covid19 or you can text COVIDJOCO to 888777 for information on clinics.
