Sunday School

Highland has a wide variety of adult groups that gather to grow in their faith, build friendship, and serve together. Classes meet on Sunday mornings 9:30 – 10:20 AM.  All are welcome to join any group.

Summer 2018

Several adult classes are combining for the summer months in the Assembly Room on the 3rd floor.  June 17 – July 22 will be a study entitled “Together,” led by Rev. Janet Baucom and Rev. Charlie Baber. The remaining weeks will be led by different classes within the group:

  • July 29: “The Power of Community”
  • August 5: “What makes the perfect group study?”
  • August 12: “God Speaks Your Love Language”
  • August 19: Q&A on the Commission on the Way Forward

Adult Sunday School

ABC Class – Room 206
A class of middle-age and older adults focusing on Bible study.

Faith Quest Class – Room 302
Discussion based class of 40- and 50-somethings seeking individual growth and church/community involvement.

Fellowship Class – Room 209
This class of older adults covers a wide range of topics and interests, inviting guest speakers and often focusing on social justice issues. They also meet for monthly socials and to cupport local mission efforts.

Lifelines Class – Room 301
This class for middle-aged women is designed to fit women’s interests and needs, alternating between Bible studies and contemporary Christian topics.

Upper Room Class – Room 304
A group of older adults who take turns leading discussion following the “Adult Bible Study” series.

Moms’ Class – Room 303A
A women’s group who discuss the intersection of parenting and faith, as well as enjoy regular socials and fellowship.

Epiphany Class – Room 303B
A discussion-oriented class of 30 and 40-somethings alternating between Bible study and contemporary topics. The class also enjoys regular fellowship gatherings outside of Sunday School.

Genesis Class – Parlor
This class of 40, 50 & 60-somethings takes turns leading discussions that range from Bible study to contemporary topics. They also enjoy regular fellowship gatherings.

Men’s Pathway Class – Room 210
Men of various ages gather together to tackle the many questions of Christian discipleship.

Seekers Class – Room 305
This “young at heart” class of middle-age and older adults takes turns leading discussions that cover a wide range of Bible-based contemporary topics. Social activities include dine-outs and extended outings.

Children’s Sunday School

Children & Youth Classes begin at 9:20 AM on Sundays

K – 5th grades begin together in room 202 and then break into their respective classes.

3 & 4-year-olds – Room 103
